I've never experienced better evening fly fishing pike with popper!

My thoughts for this year salmon-season; it's better to change speed and depth than change the fly. So what fly; no doubt ever: a Sunray Shadow variant! 

 Air-temp. 17 degrees and pike spawning all over the bay!  Waterflow: Elverum 178,4m, Norsfoss 444,11m3/s 24.04.2014: many pike still spawning. Lost one of over 1m in length on popper! Waterflow: Elverum 178,75m, Norsfoss 532,7m3/s Max.flow for fishing in this lake

 100 swans, 40 cranes and 60 canada goose, by the lagoon  Pike-action on fly, never caught pike this early on fly! Stomach content of 5-6cm "slom" Water-temperature 7 degrees C, air 10-12 deg. C Waterlevel at Elverum 178.21m Norsfoss 270m3/s

Started as a trip hunting pike, but ended as flyfishing for rising grayling! A superb start of the season; 100 swans and 30-40 cranes nearby!
